Treating Adult Acne with Natural Skin Care

by Abigail McKenzee

Once you've come out of puberty you never have to worry about another pimple again, however, that isn't true for everyone. A lot of people actually develop what is known as adult acne.

Just like in cases of teen acne, there seems to be no particular cause. Many experts say that adult acne is genetic and/or hormonal. Fortunately, there are a series of successful treatment options for all types of acne.

Before you ask yourself, why bother, keep in mind that if acne is not treated appropriately or is treated too late, it can lead to acne scarring. I am sure that you would prefer to deal with your acne on a daily basis than have to live with the scars it can produce.

There are several treatment options, but not enough time to cover them all in depth. So, this time around we'll concentrate on one in particular: natural skin care for adult acne.

Natural Acne Treatment

For the most part, acne is treated with a medicated acne cream and a rigorous cleansing routine. However, if you don't like using medical treatments or have had a bad experience, you might want to try natural methods which are not only more gentle but just as effective.

One very basic rule of thumb, don't pop any pimples or pick at any scabs. Both of these actions will promote redness and irritation as well as lead to scarring. Also, try and keep your hair out of your face. Hair can easily transfer oils and possible bacteria to your skin.

Other simple tips include eating more fresh fruits and vegetables and less fried food or junk foods. Also, wash your sheets frequently (every other day, if possible). Now, let's take a look at the natural products that you can use on your face to alleviate your acne problems.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree, a native tree from Australia. It is very effective against acne as it contains bacteria-fighting substances called "terpenes". Acne is often caused by bacteria and the use of terpenes can help destroy or weaken them.

Tea tree oil has very little side effects, however, it can irritate sensitive skin.

Aloe Vera

The watery gel-like leaves of the aloe vera plant are very effective against acne. Their success is due to enzymes, anti-inflammatory properties and anti-bacterial properties.

Honey

Honey is a very common acne treatment that has been used as an anti-bacterial product for centuries. Because of its low water content and acidic pH level, it is a poor environment for the growth of bacteria.

This is great news for acne sufferers. As mentioned above, acne is generally caused by bacteria. By applying honey masks, you can help eliminate these bacteria.

A good acne treatment is key for preventing acne scars and promoting healthy skin. BIOSKINFORTE is an adult acne cream that contains and revolutionary natural ingredient - snail serum. This miraculous ingredient has antiseptic and anti bacterial properties that help combat the bacteria that are responsible for causing acne.
