Seifert added “This study shows that mammals as a group may in fact have higher regenerative abilities then they are given credit for,” and gave reasons why it has taken so long for us to give the mice credit for their supernatural ability, “These guys had been known to lose their tail, but no one had ever reported on skin dislodging from their body.”

Scientific reports are showing that their regenerative ability, also referred to as autotomy, was made possible by the collagen III molecule.
